About AniMania

What is AniMania?

AniMania is a cosplay runway and art contest exhibit event. It is a gathering of animé enthusiasts wearing costumes, make-up and paraphernalia related to the world of animé, manga and games. This is the first event of Synergy Squad, a group of dedicated students taking up the course Events Management in Miriam College. Beneficiary for this upcoming event is for the Miriam College Scholarship fund.

Dress Code & Restricted Props

1. Nudity/Partial Nudity is not allowed - so as revealing costumes. We have the right to disqualify any contestant that is judged to be offensive.

2. Sharp, harmful, flammable and messy objects will not be permitted inside the venue. This includes guns and metal weapons.

Event Rules

1. The event organizers and their staff will not be held responsible for damage or injury resulting from mishandling and/or negligence of a cosplayer in his/her use of props/materials throughout the duration of the event.

2. Registration and participation to the cosplay event constitutes that the cosplayer gives the right and the authority to Mania organizers/staff, its sponsors and authorized press media to take pictures and/or videos of registered cosplayers, cosplay groups and its members and will be the sole property of the organizers/staff, its sponsors and authorized press media to be used for future publications and/or advertising promotions.

3. Cosplay Competition winners and runner ups may be required to answer questions and/or interviews for media purposes.

Cosplay Guidelines

Cosplay Details

1. The competition is open up to 30 participants, aged 15 and up.

2. This will be a solo open category event where participants could cosplay any character from an animé or video game. Original cosplay will not be allowed.

3. Participants are required to register online as pre-registration. Once confirmed, they have to register again at the day of the event as verification of attendance.

4. Registration is first-come-first-serve basis. Only the first 30 registered individual cosplay entries will be accepted into the contest.

5. Each contestant will be given 1-2 minutes for his/her ramp, introduction and over-all gimmick.

6. If the 30 individual cosplay quota has been reached but pre-registrants fail to confirm their registration between 12:30pm-1pm, the next available slot(s) will be given to the on-site individual cosplay registrants.

Judging Criteria

1. Craftsmanship (Creativity, Resourcefulness, Accuracy) - 50%

2. Characterization (Stage Presence, Projection, Delivery) - 40%

3. Audience Impact/Appeal - 10%

Art Contest Guidelines

Contest Details

1. The art contest exhibit is open to 20 contestants. Pre-registration online is required.

2. This will be an open category competition wherein participants should illustrate/sketch animé characters or any scene with relation to animé.

3. All sketches should be drawn in a sketchpad paper not exceeding the size of 9x 12 or in a 1/8 illustration board.

4. All participants are required for early registration on the event: 11:30am -12:30pm to submit their artwork because it will be exhibited during the whole event proper.

Judging Criteria

1. Creativity - 50%

2. Visual Impact - 25%

3. Style - 15%
